APEX Mentoring Program (AMP) is a unique, one-on-one mentoring program focused on guiding young Asian Pacific Islander Americans in their professional and personal development. The Program pairs select young professionals and university/graduate students with experienced professionals based on common career and community interests, and provides a structured approach to fostering the mentor/mentee relationship.

AMP 2011 will run from April to September 2011 and consist of an Opening and Closing Ceremony, as well as AMP-exclusive seminars covering the topics of Goal Setting and Communication. Mentees will benefit not only from the guidance they receive from an experienced mentor, but also the support and camaraderie of their peers.

Why AMP?

MENTEES
There’s a reason why successful people always mention their role models or mentors! Here’s your chance to learn from someone who has “been there and done that”! Experienced mentors are excited to help YOU along the path to success! You will also develop your all?important network through both your mentor and by attending AMP/APEX events, and you’ll be sharing the entire experience with other mentor/mentee pairs!

The AMP Goal Setting workshop will help you outline the goals you wish to accomplish in your personal and professional lives. As a mentee, you will benefit from having an accountability partner who will be there to encourage you and keep you focused on your goals. In the AMP Communication workshop, you will have a chance to analyze your own communication style and learn new techniques for becoming a better communicator and leader. Through the Networking workshop and mixer, you will learn and immediately apply important networking skills that will help you become an effective networker.

MENTORS

It is the ideal opportunity for you to give back to the APIA Community, as you will have a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of students and young professionals while adding to your personal growth and professional achievement. You will also encounter numerous chances to broaden your own network by meeting other highly successful professionals from a wide range of industries at AMP/APEX events.

As an additional benefit of your participation in the 2011 APEX Mentoring Program, we will be extending to each mentor a complimentary one-year Premium Membership to APEX . Premium Members are provided with access to special discounts, priority check?in, and our exclusive Premium Member only events.

Supporting AMP

There are several ways to be involved with the AMP program outside of becoming a Mentor or Mentee. With help from generous sponsors and volunteers, AMP has been able to improve and reach greater heights year after year. Due to the unprecedented scope of this year’s program, we are seeking partners to contribute financial and in-kind resources. As a 100% volunteer-based organization, APEX always welcomes like-minded individuals and organizations to join us in our effort to give back to the community.
